The scientific part of the camp will be divided between lectures
and group work. We make an effort in getting some of the best
lecturers from all over Europe to come to Space Camp. The
lectures usually last for 2 hours with a 15-minute break.Through the work in groups you will get a chance to concentrate
on a specific problem and solve this during the week. There
will be 5 groups; two Rocket System Design groups, two Rocket
Payload groups and one Rocket Telemetry group. You will be
allowed access to all the equipment and facilities at the
Rocket Range so you should feel responsibility to keep everything
clean and tidy and not the least be careful while working.
The work in the groups will be directly connected to the planned
rocket launch in the end of the camp, and each group will
be responsible for a part of the launch.
An important part of Space Camp is to get to know each other
and the nature and possibilities on Andøya. We will
arrange an excursion to a local museum and a whale safari,
and the sun will always be available to join during a late
night by the sea. Good shoes are an advantage when climbing
the nearby mountain or playing a game of volleyball after
an exciting day. Last, but not least: remember to bring your
swim wear, because a short swim is always nice before running
to the sauna!
