Gustav Frisholm from the Norwegian Association of Young Scientists participates in NORNA, a science summer camp in Sweden, and gets the idea of making a similar camp in Norway. The Association contacts Arne Hjalmar Hansen, newly employed education
manager at Andøya Rocket Range, and discusses the possibilities of organizing a science camp at Andøya.

The first Space Camp attracts students from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
1996
The first Space Camp rocket, engineered by NEAR, is launched.
2000
NAROM is officially opened, and the new facilities housing class rooms are finished.
2001
The first European Space Camp
2002
First camp with participants from outside Europe; Canada/USA and Russia
2004
New design and webpages are launched
2005
First participants from The Philippines.
2006
The Team goes international with members in Australia, France, Norway and Portugal
2007
First participants from India, Czech Republic and Slovenia.
