The Norwegian Space Centre
The Norwegian Space Centre is a foundation cooperating
closely with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The centre
guides ESA contracts strategically. Public funding are
utilized to support the development of Norwegian industry
and for development and demonstration of space applications,
and to optimise conditions for national space research.
Headquarters are located in Oslo. Andøya Rocket Range
offers services to scientists worldwide wishing to study
phenomena in the middle or higher polar atmosphere. |

Andøya Rocket Range
Andøya Rocket Range (ARR) is the world's northernmost
permanent launch facility for sounding rockets and scientific
balloons and is responsible for all scientific-related
balloon and rocket operations in Norwegian territory.
ARR provides complete services for launch, operations,
data acquisition, recovery and ground instrumentation
support. The range has conducted 698 rocket launches and
hosted scientists and engineers from more than 70 institutes
and universities. |

FFI
FFI is an interdisciplinary establishment representing
most of the engineering fields, as well as biology, medicine,
political science and economics. The establishment maintains
active links with leading research institutions and industry
in Norway and abroad. In addition to advanced high technology
work FFI makes considerable contributions to long term
planning for Norwegian Defence. While the establishment
is primarily concerned with national defence, a minor
part of the work is devoted to civilian projects. |

UNIS
The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) is the world’s northernmost higher education institution, located in Longyear at 78º N. UNIS offers high quality courses at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level in Arctic Biology, Arctic Geology, Arctic Geophysics and Arctic Technology. |

Nammo Raufoss AS is located approximately 120 km north
of Oslo. The company has long traditions in exporting
of high technology engineering products. International
co-operation with military and industry customers are
the primary activities with an export business equating
to 70% of total turnover. |

Fugro Survey AS
Fugro Survey AS is located in Oslo and is part of Fugro's
Offshore Survey Division which employs 1800 people in
20 offices around the world. The Survey Division operates
a fleet of more than 20 survey vessels, a fleet of underwater
Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and the STARFIX high
accuracy Differential GPS positioning services.
Fugro Survey AS is responsible for all survey and navigation
activities in the Scandinavian market, the Baltic Sea
and in North West Russian waters. |

Narvik University College
Narvik University College is one of 26 State University
Colleges in Norway which offers higher education through
various study programmes. The number of students attending
the NUC accounts for just above 1000 spread out on a
number of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study
programmes in the fields of engineering, health services
and business management. |

Norwegian Centre for Science Education (Naturfagsenteret) This is a resource-centre for children and students studying science related subjects. The centre’s main task is to help both students and teachers to gain knowledge and motivation for science. This they tend to do by improving different projects such as research and development, in close cooperation with schools, museums, trade and industry.
By doing this, Naturfagsenteret also hope for more people to study science in the future. |

NorgINSA
The INSA engineering programme for Norwegian students was started in September 1990 at the request of the Norwegian authorities (ministries and universities). Norway was looking for a specific programme which would reduce the difficulties often met by Norwegian students in France, notably with the language, mathematics and the teaching methods which were theoretical rather than pragmatic.

The University of Tromsø, located on a small island in Northern Norway, is the northernmost university in the world. UiT, established in 1968, is one of the youngest of Norway’s six universities and has more than 6000 students and 1700 academic and administrative staff.
The university offers around 100 programmes of study within a variety of academic subjects ranging from medicine, law and science to economics, psychology, social science, fishery science and the humanities. |
